So fancy sliding into our DM’s?

“Are your coloured kitchen sinks & taps durable?”

This question is without a doubt the most asked in our DM’s! To help answer this question, it’s good to first understand how we manufacture our coloured sinks and taps:

Our coloured sinks & taps are made using the highest-grade stainless steel and coated using Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD). It’s the most effective way of coating products, used by premium brands such as Rolex and Formula 1, due to it’s lightweight and durable nature.

The Benefits of PVD

There are many benefits of PVD, the main one being the finish is made to last. In addition, it’s resistant to scratches and scrapes, perfect for a well-used household item like your kitchen sink.

Maintenance

Our range of coloured kitchen sinks and taps isn’t any more maintenance than our other stainless-steel options. The durable coating and the non-porous surface means they’re easy to clean and a great choice for your kitchen with regards to durability and hygiene, as well as aesthetic.

As you can imagine the durability of your sink and tap depends on how well the products are maintained and cleaned. If you look after  your sink & tap using our recommended cleaning tips here, then they are sure to retain their good looks for longer. However, like any stainless-steel sinks, we strongly recommend that you do not use any abrasive cleaning products like chlorine or bleach. This will attack the protective layer that makes stainless steel sinks truly stainless.

Bear In Mind

Of course, natural wear and tear will appear on the sink over time, but as we’ve suggested, if you use our recommended cleaning tips, your sink will maintain its beautiful finish.

“Do downdraft extractors & Downdraft Induction hobs really extract successfully?”

Downdraft extractors are a great choice if you want a minimalist and subtle aesthetic, as opposed to a traditional wall chimney hood or ceiling extractor. This doesn’t mean, however, that you have to compromise on the power of extraction.

The power of downdraft extractors

Unlike a traditional kitchen extractor, downdrafts pull the air downwards rather than up. Although they pull the air in the opposite direction to conventional kitchen extractors, downdraft extractors still manage to extract vapour effectively from the tallest of pans, as well as having a reputation for their particularly quiet vapour extraction.

One of the most effective methods of extraction is by using innovative plasma technology, which can be found in our award-winning DD940BK downdraft. Plasma allows you to recirculate the air efficiently, removing 95% of all odours.

How does this work?

Discreetly positioned behind the plinth, the motor draws the air through the ducting, on towards the filters. The grease and moisture are captured in the aluminium filter. The plasma then removes 95% of the odours passing through it. A carbon filter will then remove any remaining odours and the clean air is recirculated back into the room.

Verdict

So yes, the answer to this question is downdrafts are just as effective as traditional chimney hoods. And, it gives you the added option to use advanced plasma technology.

Top Tip

Top Tip:

Always turn your kitchen extractor on 10 minutes before cooking and run for a further 15 minutes after cooking to allow the airflow to circulate through the extractor effectively. This way your extractor is running at it’s optimum when you start cooking.

“How does the Wi6161 & WC1800 furniture door wine cooler match the kitchen cabinets?”

Integrated In-column Triple Zone Wine Cabinet in Light Wood

Our fully integrated Wi6161 wine cabinet is not only striking but is also the only one of its kind available in the UK. One of the reasons this wine cooler is so unique is due to the fact you can match the cabinet door to the rest of your kitchen units.

How does this work?

Ask your kitchen supplier or fitter to make a bespoke frame from the same furniture door you’ve chosen for your kitchen cabinets. Cut the aperture in the kitchen door where the glass of the wine cooler is, similar to a picture frame, and attach it to the wine cooler to create a seamlessly discreet kitchen aesthetic.

Due to the success and popularity of our Wi6161 wine cooler, we have taken this concept to a whole new level with our new WC1800 in-column wine cooler. It’s also fully integrated, however, its larger size means it can be installed into a tall bank of units to make even more of a statement.

“Is our black steel finish similar to gunmetal finish across our sinks & taps?”

Our newest addition to the metallic collection: the black steel and gunmetal collection is produced using the same advanced PVD method as mentioned before. Although they are manufactured identically, their colours are quite different. The gunmetal range is a sophisticated deep-grey finish, whereas our black steel collection is a rich black with a high sheen. Simply put, the black steel products remain in the vacuum chamber for longer meaning more colour plates the sink and tap making it darker.
